The series, which was created and directed by Emmy-nominated Ava Duvernay (Selma, 13th), follows the true story of the Central Park Five: five black and Latino teens Korey Wise, Yusef Salaam, Antron McCray, Raymond Santana, and Kevin Richardson who were wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for the brutal assault and rape of a 28-year-old female jogger in Central Park. The series will land on Netflix six weeks after the 30th anniversary of the assault, and will illustrate just how little has changed. In the miniseries, Yusuf enters to see the rest weary and uncertain about the procedure.
